Posting Summary
Rutgers University-Camden is seeking a Research Aide (Resource & Referral Specialist) for the Atlantic County region. The Child Care Resource & Referral Specialist is responsible for providing assistance to families, clients, child care providers and the general public. This includes providing information regarding the Child Care Assistance Program ( CCAP), providing guidance on choosing quality child care programs and referring individuals and families to appropriate social service agencies within the community. The R&R Specialist provides high-quality consumer education and child care referrals based on each family's preference and each child's individual needs. Resource & Referral functions are performed in person, through email and via telephone. The R&R Specialist will represent the Agency at community events and will partner with the Family Engagement Specialist to support Agency events.

This is a grant funded position contingent upon the availability of funds to support it.

Salary Details Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, within university policy and salary schedules, as well as departmental budgets.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a high school/vocational school or equivalent, and experience compiling and organizing varied data. Two years of varied office experience. College-level study may be substituted for the office experience on a year for year basis. Requires the ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats. May require working knowledge and the ability to use basic spreadsheet, word-processing, database software, and/or email. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must have effective client service skills.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree; 1 to 2 years of related experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively and appropriately represent the Agency when interacting with internal and external entities.
  • Ability to independently employ critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and execute established plans and policies.
  • Ability to appropriately and clearly give and exchange information directly related to job responsibilities.
  • Possess computer proficiency to utilize a variety of computer software programs in order to successfully complete assigned tasks.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills to complete paperwork that is accurate, relevant, and timely.
  • Possess effective program improvement strategies to continually assess and recommend quality enhancements that positively impact the agency's operations and outcomes.
  • Drivers license in good standing with reliable transportation to support off-site event/meeting participation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Familiarity of state/federal child care assistance programs and federal CCDBG law.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Equipment Utilized

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • NJCCIS and NDS state databases

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work environment is an office setting with minimal physical demands. In addition, multiple locations throughout the community for established events. Set up and breakdown of Agency materials may be required at community events/meetings.

This position reports to Atlantic County.
