Overview |
The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H. Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems. Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions. We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics.
In addition to instruction in the classroom, field, and laboratory, our students have opportunities for experiential learning on and off campus, including a growing emphasis on international experiences through short- and long-term study abroad. Students also have access to a robust program of applied research and outreach hosted by the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station laboratories, farms, business incubators, and marine stations throughout the state. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Professional/Research/Manager for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides technical management of assigned duties and assures that the project proceeds as planned.
- Communicates and collaborates with numerous individuals to maintain involvement in all facets of the project.
- Holds accountability for major project decisions, protocols, metrics, and client satisfaction.
- Demonstrates leadership role in forming and maintaining productive working relationships.
- Develops procedures for reporting.
- Handles protocol development and/or approvals.
- Acts as a consultant to the RCE Water Resources Program faculty and staff as it pertains to the stormwater permit review assistance project.
- Conducts technical completeness reviews.
- Corresponds with the Bureau of Flood Hazard and Stormwater Engineering's assigned project engineer.
- Conducts stormwater compliance reviews.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Doctorate degree in environmental engineering, bioenvironmental engineering, civil engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
- 10 years of experience in stormwater and watershed management, including best management practice design and implementation, outreach education with field research and data analysis, supervision of technical staff, and leadership in promoting and applying water quality and watershed management practices.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Strong writing, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and HydroCAD.
- A valid driver's license would be required for this position.
