Job Title: Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Location: 47601 Grand River Ave Novi, MI 48374 Inpatient/Outpatient: 100% inpatient Case Load: 100% Adult Position Overview: Henry Ford Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team at Providence Novi in a Contingent position within the Mixed ICU and NSICU. This role involves providing day-to-day care for critically ill ICU patients, with a focus on a diverse range of medical, surgical, cardiac, and neuro ICU treatments. Since APPs are required to care for Stroke, APPs will be NIH trained. The ideal candidate will have acute care experience, particularly in ICU settings, with a minimum of 4 years' experience - new graduates will not be considered. The position requires flexibility, as you'll be covering gaps due to vacation and sick time, ensuring two APPs are always on shift. On each shift, you'll collaborate with a fellow, another APP, and potentially an intensivist who will be present or on-call. This role offers extensive exposure to a variety of critical care cases, providing opportunities to expand your skills in multiple specialties. We are looking for a highly skilled and reliable APP who can thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and deliver high-quality care to our ICU patients. Schedule - Contingent. 12-hour shifts, 24 hours a month minimum. Weekend requirement - Not mandatory. GENERAL SUMMARY: The NP/PA-Critical Care/ICU will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary critical care unit. The NP/PA-Critical Care/ICU will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to critically ill patients and their families. Provides inpatient medical care for critically ill patients requiring ICU level of care. Works in collaboration with intensivist physicians, attending physicians, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Masters degree in nursing OR Bachelors degree or Completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program minimum. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current state license as a Registered Nurse. Current ACLS/BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required. OR Michigan licensure and continued certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA). Current ACLS/BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required. Qualifications: * NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) * PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) * NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan * PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Licensure and Certification * Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application) * National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA) * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification * DEA/CSL, required through credentialing. DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL. Experience * Minimum of 4 years' experience, preferred. * Acute Care APP.
