Research Assistant I, Per Diem

This individual is a research assistant (RA) who will work with a cutting-edge research and clinical team in the Green lab in the areas of public and community engagement in relation to biomedical sciences. The RA will play an integral role in supporting the bioethical research and research team. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized and detail oriented, possess excellent writing, communication, and research skills, and be highly proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Candidates who intend to apply to medical school, doctoral programs or similar pursuits within two years are encouraged to apply.

1. Overall:
* Perform administrative and coordinating duties for innovative NIH-funded research projects.
* Enter research and clinical data into secure databases.
* Help maintain organization of research and clinical records.
* Assist project managers by preparing and distributing meeting materials/handouts.
* Assist project managers in the development of research materials such as grant applications and surveys.
* Conduct internet and library research and construct well-written summaries.
* Assist director and project managers with upkeep of Endnote library and journal and impact factor tracking.
* Assist director and project managers with manuscript and abstract preparation, submission, and publication tracking.
* Assist project managers with study poster and presentation design.
* Assist with scheduling virtual and in-person meetings, often across multiple time zones.
* Assist project managers with audiovisual technology at meetings.

2. Clinical duties and responsibilities:
* Assist the clinical team with narrative review and scheduling.
* Assist with clinic administrative duties and oversight as needed.

3. Project-specific duties and responsibilities:
* Screen, summarize, synthesize, and analyze data from related research.
* Maintain detailed and organized data spreadsheets of collected data for use in publications, posters, and presentations.
* Provide selected data and analysis on request for study collaborators and help to determine which sources of data are a fit for research questions.
* Attend regular study meetings and report back to the team.
* Be responsible for all other organizational and administrative tasks related to our research participants, keeping the Project Manager informed of any issues or challenges, and study successes.
* Assist Project Manager by preparing and distributing meeting materials/handouts and taking meeting minutes.
* Assist with proofreading and developing documents (protocols, consent forms, surveys, etc.).

4. Media:
* Attend regular team media calls and take minutes.
* Assist with developing and revising website content.
* As instructed by the genetic counselor/PI, reach out to patients and research participants for media contact.
* Present website, blog, and newsletter analytics for team review and propose and execute revisions to media strategies.

5. Development:
* Attend regular team development calls and take minutes.
* Create written and visual materials highlighting opportunities for philanthropy.
* Assist with distributing research program updates and donation requests annually.

* Bachelors Degree Required, Master's degree in bioethics, medical sciences, or philosophy preferred
* Training or experience in a clinical or clinical research setting preferred

* High degree of computer literacy: MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Careful attention to detail
