Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Economist I to support the US Army National Guard (USARNG) G-1 Human Resources Management System (HRMS) contract. This entry-level role involves assisting in economic research, data analysis, and policy evaluation to support decision-making related to human resources, fiscal planning, and operational efficiency. The Economist I works under the guidance of more senior economists and analysts.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in conducting research on economic issues related to the production and distribution of goods and services, labor economics, and fiscal policy.
  • Support the preparation of economic reports, forecasts, and policy recommendations.
  • Collect, process, and analyze economic and statistical data using sampling techniques and econometric methods.
  • Contribute to the development of models and tools to evaluate program performance and resource allocation.
  • Assist in preparing charts, graphs, and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with senior economists, statisticians, and program staff to support mission objectives.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to perform functional duties under the oversight of more senior staff.
  • Familiarity with economic modeling, data analysis, and econometric tools.
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Up to 3 years of relevant experience in economic research or analysis.
  • Must have a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • Must be a US citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with government or military economic data.
  • Exposure to workforce economics or public sector fiscal policy.
  • Understanding of federal data privacy and reporting standards
