About team / role

WEX is seeking a self-driven professional to join their Accounting team. As an Accountant II, you will have the opportunity to maintain and prepare moderately complex general ledger and sub-ledger financial transactions along with a range of different projects/initiatives while working in a team atmosphere.

How you'll make an impact

  • Collaborate within the Accounting organization and partner with various other teams and departments

  • Monthly account reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts

  • Responsible for recording & reconciling of all fixed assets domestically; inclusive of processing depreciation, impairments, disposals, write-off's and assets placed in service.

  • Work with internal IT department to ensure all asset listings are accurately and timely maintained

  • Responsible for recording & reconciling all lease accounting activity domestically

  • Prepaid asset and deferred revenue journal entry preparation and reconciliations

  • Intercompany journal entries and analysis

  • Initiate corrective action on moderately complex issues

  • Opportunity to work on various projects and initiatives, such as automation and process optimization

  • Become proficient in automation tools such as Alteryx and UIPath

  • Assist in coordination of internal and external audit

  • Other duties as assigned

Experience you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 2+ years relevant experience.

  • Excel: Formulas, pivot tables, general analysis.

  • Proficiency in the use of relevant software applications, databases, and spreadsheets. MS Dynamics GP, Prophix, Coupa a plus

  • Knowledge of accounting and financial statements and the ability to analyze accounting transactions and financial statements.

  • Individual must be a motivated self-starter who possesses effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment with proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy and ability to build relationships.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
