The goal within the Maintenance Department is to maintain plant electrical / mechanical systems and equipment in a safe and reliable manner. The Maintenance Department's function is to provide outstanding customer service to the Distribution and support groups in all areas of the plant through preventative/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and upgrading of plant processing, packaging, and the filling line equipment. In addition, Maintenance Department personnel serve as a technical resource to the plant, division manufacturing and engineering groups.
Repair gear heads and reducers, run all types of piping including black iron, stainless steel, copper, PVC and flexible tubing, install various components including: seals, bearings, o-rings, gaskets, adhesives, belts, chains, rollers, sprockets, gears and sheaves, troubleshoot repair/rebuild centrifugal/positive displacement pumps, weld stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, fabricate guards, etc. out of sheet metal and Lexan, cutting of metal with a plasma cutter or torch, wire and repair electric motors, repair basic wiring and replace lighting fixtures and lamps, correctly size fusing, motor overload protection and wire size per National Electric Code (NEC), read electrical schematics and wire directly from wiring diagrams, use of electrical and precision tools to complete assigned work. Proficient in performing repairs to production equipment and plant utility systems, troubleshooting complex, high-speed filling, packaging and conveying equipment, make machine adjustments to liquid line seamers, bottle sealers and bottle cappers, adjust timing systems such as rotary sterilizers, ensure proper operation of electrical / mechanical components and devices (push buttons, switches, timers, solenoids, electrical disconnects, AC and DC motors), troubleshoot and repair barcode scanners and video-jet ink printers. Housekeeping of the shop is primarily the responsibility of everyone working in the area Accountable for maintaining various hand tools and equipment; drills, winches, micrometers, calipers, torches, welders, lathe, mill, multimeter, etc. This position is accountable for ensuring compliance with applicable FDA (GMP), USDA, OSHA and Client regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines.
