Job Title: Machine Technician - Entry Level Summary Contribute to the safe production of quality products by performing the following tasks: adjust, set-up, troubleshoot, repair and maintain automated production machines used in the grinding, turning, broaching, measuring and assembling of automotive hub bearings. Starting Wage: $22.00 (Will increase to $24.00 when training complete) The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At ANBM, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform highly diversified duties to maintain production and quality of machines
- Set-up and operate production equipment according to standard company procedures
- Perform root-cause analyses to diagnose machine malfunctions (such as part size variation, machine jam, slow cycle times, etc...), replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Inspect, replace and adjust machine parts such as gages, grinding shoes, backing plates, belts, pulleys, dressers, spindles, motors and actuators
- Ensure quality and customer specification are met by measuring parts with hand gauges and setting machine gauges to masters
- Participate in process improvement activities (Monozukuri projects, MRR & Scrap improvement meetings, etc)
- Help train and develop Operators and other Machine Technicians
- Accurately document downtime, machine repairs and spare parts usage
- Comply with all safety rules and maintain clean and orderly work area (5S)
- Communicates and collaborates with all departments as required.
- Perform cleaning and 5S tasks.

Education and/or Experience
- On average, this job requires 8 weeks of on-the-job training with an experienced trainer to acquire specific job skills. Exact training time depends upon a person's experience and abilities.
- This job requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Basic mechanical knowledge of computerized machines, gauges, and hand tools
- Working knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics
- Able to read and interpret blue prints and machine drawings
- General knowledge of material handling, manufacturing processes, quality control systems
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals. Also proficient with geometry.
- Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Respond promptly to a sound or light signal when it occurs.
- Concentrate on a task over several minutes without being distracted.
- Able to become proficient in the following:
- Understands manufacturing process of HUB bearing
- Understands the operation of automated production line
- Understands quality requirements and inspection methods
- Understands how to interpret a variety of quality data and charts (part shape, roughness, etc)
- Certified to inspect finished goods
Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Bump caps, steel toe safety shoes, and safety glasses are required in all production areas. Hearing protection is encouraged and may be required in specific areas.

Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; hazards common to industrial settings; chemicals, vibration, and loud noises.
- Safety shoes, safety glasses, chemical resistant gloves and bump caps for this position must be worn on the production floor. Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
- Jobs on the production floor require a minimum 40-hour workweek. Overtime may be required.
- The pace of work is steady and fast.
- Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- This position requires sufficient vision to see details at close range, so the person can pass an inspection test of finished parts and components.
