What this job involves - At JLL, we're looking for a skilled Cold Storage/Refrigeration Technician to join our team of facilities management professionals. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, and repairing cold storage and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. You'll work hands-on with various cooling equipment while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. As part of our facilities team, you'll help create comfortable environments for our clients while contributing to energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on cold storage/refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, and other cold storage equipment
  • Monitor temperature controls and maintain proper temperature levels according to facility requirements via Insight (ThermoFisher) program.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues in cold storage units
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status in the company's maintenance management system
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using testing devices and troubleshooting techniques
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to established schedules
  • Follow safety protocols and regulatory guidelines while handling refrigerants
  • Respond to emergency service calls and prioritize critical refrigeration needs
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize equipment performance and energy efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations related to refrigeration systems

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in refrigeration, HVAC, or related technical field
  • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
  • Working knowledge of various refrigeration systems, compressors, and controls
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Willingness to be on-call for emergency situations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various physical positions
  • Basic computer skills for documenting work and communicating with team members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in HVAC/R technology
  • Experience with building automation systems and digital controls
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency practices for refrigeration systems
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs
  • NATE or other industry-recognized certifications
  • Experience in commercial or industrial settings
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • OSHA safety certification

Estimated total compensation for this position:

57,000.00 - 65,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
