Job Description

Dewberry's Architecture Team is seeking a licensed Interior Designer to join our collaborative Architecture and Interior Design team in our Fairfax VA office.

Dewberry's Architecture/Interior Design Practice has an exciting opportunity for the right individual to begin implementing their interior design and technical skills to support a variety of exciting clients and projects. Our biggest attributes are our client relationships and the almost 30 professionals in the Fairfax office. Responsibilities

The successful candidate is passionate about creating impactful environments and comfortable working on all phases of design from programming / concept development to construction documents and construction administration. They will demonstrate the ability to collaborate on single or multiple architectural and interiors projects, whether independently or as part of a team. . The ideal candidate will also participate in selection of FF&E, color palettes, material selections, furniture systems and specifications. Provide project team coordination for the drawings, specifications and materials. Prepare contract documents and work with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives. Review work of consultants for coordination purposes. Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and samples and assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination.



Required Skills & Required Experience

    Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in interior Design.
  • Bachelor of Interior Design and/or Architecture degree from an accredited University is required.
  • NCIDQ certificate and State license is preferred, ability to obtain licensure will be considered.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), SketchUp and other modeling programs.
  • Proficient in Creative Adobe Suite applications specifically Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials and specifications.
  • Strong rendering and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
  • Ability to manage all phases of interiors projects, including project set-up, programming, design, and construction administration.
  • Strong technical background including knowledge of building codes, construction materials, and construction techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles and LEED Accredited Professional or Green Globes credential is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • A design portfolio demonstrating interior design experience will be required.
