Job Description

UMKC's Urban Education Research Center (UERC) is seeking qualified candidates for a short-term Research Assistant. This appointment is expected to be approximately 2 months at 40 hours per week. Duties include, but arUMKC's Urban Education Research Center (UERC) is seeking qualified candidates for a short-term Research Assistant. This appointment is expected to be approximately 2 months at 40 hours per week. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of an integrated data system containing data with varying units of analysis, structures, and formats
  • Create documentation and other artifacts to facilitate the use of data included in the data system
  • Conduct statistical analyses including descriptive statistics, graphical displays and statistical modeling
  • Assist with research and evaluation project deliverables including reports, data visualization graphs and/or tables, and presentation slide
  • Effectively communicate project updates and statuses to project team members
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated experience organizing sets of data files into an integrated data system
  • Demonstrated experience preparing data with varying units of analysis, structures, and formats
  • Demonstrated experience preparing data user artificacts such as codebooks and reusable code
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks and projects with overlapping timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • Experience with R
  • Experience preparing data using a syntax based statistical software program
Anticipated Hiring Range

$25 - $27/hour commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
