Job Description Job Description EBAD seeks a highly motivated individual for the Production Planner, reporting directly to the Master Scheduler, Electronics Center of Excellence (ECE)). This position is located in Simsbury, CT. Responsibilities: The Production Planner ensures the successful build and delivery of products to both internal and external customers. This role involves coordinating tasks from customer order entry through to shipment and overseeing inventory movement for modified-standard and repeat production. Key responsibilities include adhering to the master production schedule, aligning with capacity planning, and adjusting schedules to meet changes in demand or supply chain disruptions. The Production Planner collaborates with various departments to ensure production plans are feasible and align with business objectives. They analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Principal duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Reviews supply and demand within ERP to ensure timely availability of production materials to meet contract requirements and adheres to the master production schedule.
- Effectively manages raw material receipt, inventory, and distribution, including finished goods movement and shipment to customers.
- Maintains accurate and timely records of inventory movements and transactions, including Customer Furnished Property.
- Establishes material requirements and requisitions materials to assure on-time delivery to production, aligning with capacity planning.
- Allocates existing inventory and supports creating planned shop orders in ERP for procurement of material, ensuring demand is generated properly for all materials.
- Maintains Receiving Inspection priorities.
- Coordinates with Inventory Specialists and Shop Floor Supervisors for timely release of Shop Order and material kits based upon production demand.
- Issues all shop floor point of use materials and reports production in ERP.
- Manages product shipping; creates packing slips and supports logistical liaison functions.
- Interfaces with other functions to effectively and efficiently monitor material flow and work prioritization from customer order receipt to project closeout.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement efforts and Kaizen activities.
- Actively leads, creates, and energizes positive change. Initiates investigation and involves key personnel required to resolve problems that may impact scheduled shipments.
- Contributes to the implementation of a sustained 5S program on the shop floor.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in Materials Management, Logistics, and Planning
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
- Ability to view at a high level the overall potential risks and impacts within the organization based on material planning decisions
- Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels and to cross-functional groups.
- Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management
- Understanding of configuration management, supply chain, material control, manufacturing, and shipping processes
- Experience with Import/Export requirements and international shipping
- Good working knowledge of computer applications such as ERP/MRP, Proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Ability to interpret and understand work orders as well as mechanical, technical, and electronic drawings, manuals, and other related documentation
- Ability to motivate people, particularly in supply chain and materials management environment
- LEAN Manufacturing concept implementation experience preferred
