Test Development - Media Specialist


Summary


This position reports directly to the Director of Media & Composition and is part of the Assessment Production group working a hybrid schedule in DRC's Maple Grove, MN office and remote from home. Duties of this position include modifying and maintaining test items and passages while adhering to and implementing DRC and client-/project-specific styles and specifications; utilizing the processes currently established in DRC's proprietary item banking system, IDEAS; helping to standardize and implement unique format changes through XML process instructions; and formatting items and passages for online presentation.



Position Responsibilities



  • Execute, maintain, and monitor all items and passages within IDEAS
  • Utilize XML process instruction code for print layouts
  • Create tech-enhanced items (e.g., bubble input, drag and drop, hotspot, click to respond, layered input) for online presentation in INSIGHT
  • Understand Use CSS for online development
  • Use IDEAS and its related tools to maintain process efficiencies
  • Follow and support adopted software development methodologies
  • Identify formatting issues within IDEAS
  • Collaborate effectively within the team and with other production teams and business units
  • Provide support in troubleshooting technical/formatting issues in IDEAS


Qualifications



  • Associate or Bachelor's degree or equivalent in publishing technology or a related field or relevant professional experience
  • Minimum of two years relevant professional experience in an office/business environment
  • Working knowledge of various data-base systems
  • Knowledge of layout, typography, and overall composition and/or publication style
  • Strong can-do work ethic
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing circumstances and direction
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly to diverse groups of people
  • Be able to work under supervision and to accept feedback
  • Work successfully and contribute both as a member of a team and independently
  • Be task oriented and focused- a self-starter who is able to meet tight deadlines
  • Be flexible and motivated to help with any task as needed
  • Report to work promptly when scheduled



Reporting to this position: No direct reports



Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8-hour periods of time
  • Ability to look at a computer monitor, utilize a keyboard and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as necessary
