The Department of Anthropology at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a fulltimeVisiting Assistant Professor position beginning August 15, 2025. The duties of this positioninclude teaching bioanthropology and archaeology courses, student mentoring, and contributingto the University's NAGPRA consultation and documentation process. We are particularlyinterested in a scholar with experience with NAGPRA compliance, consultation, projectmanagement, and collaborative engagement with tribal and community partners. This is a 12-month position with the potential for renewal for a second year. Essential Functions
The successful candidate will teach 4 courses per year, including a large introductorybioanthropology class and other courses to be determined in consultation with the selectedcandidate. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will also contribute to management ofNAGPRA consultation, documentation, and repatriation, which occur year-round. Required Education
Candidates with a Ph.D. in Anthropology or related fields in-hand by the time of appointment arepreferred, but ABDs will be considered. Application Process
