The Senior Director of Research and Academic Computing will play a pivotal role in advancing the institution's mission by providing visionary leadership and strategic direction for research cyberinfrastructure, advanced computing resources, and data services. This role will oversee the development of a comprehensive research cyberinfrastructure and advanced academic computing strategy, advocate for resource allocation, and oversee the portfolio of services essential to advancing research initiatives. Familiarity with compliance frameworks including: NIST 800-171/800-53, CUI, FERPA, HIPAA, ITAR, FISMA Experience supporting regulated research environments, such as Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) enclaves. Leading a research compute group for a higher education Institute Experience running a national compute resource Active participation in national or international cyberinfrastructure communities, such as: CaRCC, XSEDE/ACCESS, Internet2, The Carpentries, ESIP, Open Science Grid Experience contributing to or leading grant-funded initiatives, especially involving NSF, DOE, NIH, or private foundations. Experience developing campus-wide strategic plans for research computing or data services. Familiarity with campus research governance structures (e.g., research councils, advisory committees). Proven success in cross-disciplinary collaboration (e.g., humanities + computing, life sciences + AI). Experience developing and tracking service-level metrics or user engagement analytics for advanced computing services. Experience in sustainability planning, including chargeback models, cost recovery, or shared services frameworks. Proposed Salary
