Responsibilities

  • The Patient Care Tech performs activities under the direction of the Unit Manager and Charge Nurse on shift to promote a cohesive work environment.
  • The patient care role varies and may include, but is not limited to, peer education, maintenance of a safe and clean environment, support and reassurance, advocacy, efficient use of resources, maintenance of supply inventory, and cooperation across disciplines.
  • Clerical duties in this role include the updating and organizing of information on the unit; coordinating work within the unit as well as other units and departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor or RN in charge; responding to inquiries and requests from staff personnel and physicians.
  • Clerical duties also include patient check-in, scheduled events maintenance, and maintaining unit logs.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • BLS certification

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience.
