WHO WE ARE: The National Multiple Sclerosis Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. To fulfill this mission, the Society funds cutting-edge research, drives change through advocacy, facilitates professional education, collaborates with MS organizations around the world, and provides programs and services designed to help people with MS and their families move their lives forward. We partner with volunteers to accomplish our work. Staff members engage volunteers through effective and timely communications, facilitating meaningful opportunities, and continually seeking and providing feedback for reciprocal growth and learning. The Manager, Healthcare Stakeholder Engagement leads the development and management of healthcare providers and other healthcare stakeholder relationships within a defined geographic region, focused on improving access to high quality, affordable healthcare for people affected by MS. This work includes identifying gaps in care, provider education and workforce development, increasing referrals to the Society, and partnering with healthcare stakeholders to improve health outcomes for people with MS. The Manager oversees a portfolio of stakeholder relationships in the Southwest, which includes Texas and surrounding states, and uses data and market intelligence to proactively identify ways to leverage relationships to achieve healthcare access objectives. The Manager must maintain a current knowledge of MS, treatments, management, and research, as well as an understanding of the impact of social determinants of health in the Southwest region and participate in ongoing healthcare access and Society trainings and professional development.Healthcare Provider Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building * Achieve healthcare access objectives by using centrally vetted data, tools and resources to identify, prioritize and strengthen healthcare stakeholder relationships. * Identify, develop and manage a comprehensive portfolio of healthcare professionals and healthcare systems that provide care for people with MS, including key opinion leaders involved in MS diagnosis, care and treatment. * Identify and expand relationships with other healthcare stakeholders to increase and improve access to personalized, affordable, high-quality healthcare for people with MS that align with the Society's strategic plan and goal of expanding relationships for providers who may facilitate early diagnosis and care of people with MS. * Track all interactions with healthcare stakeholders within Salesforce and work with Director, Stakeholder Engagement Operations to create metrics to assess the impact of outreach and support for people affected by MS and healthcare stakeholders. * Working with Director, Stakeholder Engagement Operations, utilize Society data, resources and tools to inform decisions on which stakeholders to engage, how to prioritize stakeholder engagement and strategies for engagement to achieve healthcare access objectives. * Identify regional gaps in access to MS care and collaborate with cross-functional Society staff, stakeholders and volunteer leaders to address these gaps to achieve healthcare access objectives, including communities at risk for poor health outcomes. * Working with the Director, Provider Engagement, help recruit for and build knowledge of Society working committees. * Communicate key and relevant Society information, programs, etc. to appropriate regional providers and other stakeholders. * Promote and identify opportunities to share Society initiatives with healthcare providers and people living with MS. * Actively participate in project teams to meet deliverables and timelines to accomplish work efficiently and effectively. * Collaborate with Healthcare Access colleagues to implement strategies to promote workforce development opportunities for current and future healthcare providers, including clinical fellowships, medical student mentorships and more. Assist in recruiting efforts for mentorship sites and managing relationships with those sites, as well as introduce fellows to relationships in local areas. * Collaborate with Healthcare Access colleagues to identify speakers, thought leadership pieces, and educational material to build knowledge of MS across healthcare professionals. * Identify and share appropriate education opportunities, tools and resources for healthcare providers. * Represent the Society at public speaking engagements such as in-services and other training opportunities. Team Responsibilities * Attend/actively engage in training, professional development, conferences, and staff meetings. * Develop a strong working knowledge of all Society and relevant 3rd party (e.g., Komodo) information systems. * Implement and follow National MS Society risk management policies and procedures. * Actively take part in local market events and activities supporting Society priorities and local staff and volunteers. * Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and understanding of healthcare systems and provider needs. * Contribute to team meetings, provide support and feedback to colleagues. * Utilize matrix management techniques to foster relationships with local market leaders. * Other duties as assigned. Required qualifications * Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in regionally focused healthcare stakeholder relations or similar healthcare nonprofit preferred. * Substantial familiarity and understanding of the healthcare industry. * Proven understanding of the U.S. healthcare systems, its evolution and the changing needs of the MS community. * Ability to apply professional discretion and judgment to sensitive situations involving a diverse set of stakeholders with competing priorities. * Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions. * Strong interpersonal, emotional intelligence, and professional judgement skills. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Commitment to the mission, vision, cultural values, and expectations of the National MS Society * Position will be required to drive/travel on Society business. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation. The Society does run motor vehicle checks for all positions which require driving, and the applicant must meet the Society guidelines. * Proficiency in using CRM software and other engagement tools. * Ability to identify trends in data to inform engagement priorities and discussions. * Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Society, and database systems. * Availability to work occasional nights and weekends to support events, committee meetings, etc. Field-based roles demands: This role is market-based and requires regular, in-person attendance at meetings, constituent interactions, and events as well as travel as required up to approximately 25% of the work time. This role involves travel within the Southwest to attend in-person meetings and events, with limited travel outside the Southwest for conferences or other meetings as needed. During the remaining time, work is primarily conducted remotely from either a home office or a National MS Society workspace (Society workspace not provided in all geographies). Compensation & Benefits: The estimated hiring compensation range for this role is $55,000-$65,000. Final offers will be based on the candidate'sgeographic location, consider career experience and may vary from this range due to these and other factors.
