CHIEF OF STAFF
DETROIT WAYNE INTEGRATED HEALTH NETWORK
Under the direction of the President/CEO of the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network, the DWIHN Chief of Staff serves as a member of the Network Executive Leadership Team and has lead responsibility for the Network's Central Office support functions. The Chief of Staff serves as a key strategic partner to the executive leadership team, facilitating the effective operational, administrative, and strategic functions of the Network. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the mission of providing high-quality behavioral healthcare services is achieved efficiently and effectively.
The Chief of Staff will coordinate and follow up with the Network's leadership team to assure assignment completion.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consistent with the principles of recovery, person-centeredness, and cultural competence, the Chief of Staff's principal responsibilities are as follows:
- The DWIHN Chief of Staff will function as a surrogate of the CEO to assure the efficient and effective management of a complex health organization.
- Implements the policies and procedures of the Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority. Collaborate directly with the executive leadership to implement strategic initiatives and streamline operations across departments.
- Works to assure the long-term and short-term strategic plans, objectives and goals for the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network.
- Analyze operational processes, identify areas for improvement, and propose enhancements to increase productivity and service delivery.
- Oversee and coordinate special projects and initiatives, providing comprehensive updates to the CEO.
- Represents the CEO in internal and external meetings.
- Review DWIHN operations, and makes changes as needed to improve efficiency.
- Provides general supervision to the employees of the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network.
- Directs, manages, and monitors the day-to-day operations and activities of the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network as directed by the CEO.
- Other assignments as assigned by CEO.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of management theory and practice.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and local funding sources.
- Knowledge of contract management including monitoring quality assurance and compliance standards.
- Knowledge of personnel policies, practices, and procedures.

- Knowledge of or had personal experience with behavioral health issues is desired.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Experience: At least five (5) years of executive or administrative experience.
Training: A Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, human or social services or a related field, Master's degree preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in an office setting.
