Adjunct Instructor: Power, Players and Platforms in Global Sports

The Annenberg School of Journalism seeks a qualifiedAdjunct InstructorforJOUR/BUAD 499: Power, Profit & Platforms in Global Sportsin fall 2025.

Candidates must have knowledge and experience such that they can support the teaching of an undergraduate-level course in:

• The business of sports, including: ownership and financing, management, marketing, events and operations;
• Sports, media and entertainment, including: media rights, broadcasts and streaming, brands and marketing, and talent agencies;
• The role of sports in shaping and reflecting culture, including: issues of racial and gender equity in ownership and compensation, diversity and inclusion across audiences, communities, leagues, teams, and players;
• Sports science and health, including: performance analytics, performance and mindset, and sports and public health;
• Current issues and hot topics in sports; and
• Career opportunities and paths in various segments of the myriad sports industries.

Requirements for consideration include a B.A., B.S., M.S., or an M.A. degree in a related field. Previous teaching experience is desirable. For some courses, outstanding professional experience may be substituted for academic credentials.

The hourly range for this position is $37.88 per hour . USC reserves the "Adjunct" appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
