Job Summary

Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing technology within one or more processing facility(s). Ensures technology solutions effectively support production processes and improve manufacturing efficiency in a responsible, safe, and modern way. Plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and continuous improvement of the company's manufacturing technology and associated systems. Collaborates with internal departments and external vendors to connect equipment for remote support and capturing of critical data.

Key Responsibilities

* Responsible for the maintenance, implementation, and optimization of software, hardware, and various tools used on the production floor, such as industrial computers, RF Scanners, tablets, and other client/control devices.

* Procures all Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) related hardware and is responsible for technology refresh and lifecycle processes. Supports negotiation for vendor contracts, research new vendors, serves as the liaison, and/or owns the investigation and resolution of a complaint or performance issue.

* Guides the upgrades and maintenance of the MES environment. Provides timely communications on MES availability status with multiple departments, including the coordination of testing and updating.

* Maintains documentation for the configuration and deployment of all manufacturing related IT equipment.

* Investigates, isolates, and remediates manufacturing and equipment issues related to technology, including troubleshooting of equipment located on production floor.

* Partners with facility maintenance to ensure completion of equipment repairs, such as scales, printers, etc.

* Owns the planning, coordination, completion, and guidance of machine and sensor integration for data collection, such as OEE (overall equipment effectiveness), predictive maintenance, and measurement data (i.e., temperature, flow, weight, count, etc.).

* Interprets and evaluates production and MES data to maintain efficiency and recommend modifications to improve system performance in growth, capacity, and speed.

* Troubleshoots and provides consultation for other plant line-of-business, production, and manufacturing systems, such as refrigeration controls, wastewater controls, sizing line, basting, and injection systems, etc.

Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience)

* Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent

* 3+ years or relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Experience with IT Service Management / ticketing systems for documenting and prioritizing issues/requests

* Strong communications and interpersonal skills to build strong internal and external customer relationships

* Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills including the ability to provide diligent, prompt, and courteous responses to user's requests, questions, or issues

* Thorough understanding of networking, including experience troubleshooting wired, wireless, and IP network issues

* Strong business acumen with the ability to understand the impact of IT on various parts of the business

* Solid multi-tasking, prioritizing, and organization skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment; consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances

* Proven ability to create and maintain technical/process documentation related to user or system design specifications

* Ability to seamlessly adapt to different work environments, across all functions, and at all levels of the business

* Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.)

* Working knowledge of PowerBI, and SAP or other ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Prior experience with MES or other manufacturing/operational technology systems

* Expertise with IT tools such as SolarWinds, Manage Engine, SOTI, or other MDM (mobile device management) tools

* CompTIA A+ Certification

* ITIL training and/or certification

Physical Demands

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

* Must have the ability to drive a vehicle.

* Must have the ability to navigate the terrain of a processing plant environment, including uneven terrain, wet floors, stairs, step ladders, and other obstacles.

Working Conditions & Travel Requirements

* Work will be performed in a variety of conditions including a climate-controlled office environment(s) and in a manufacturing plant environment with varying conditions, such as cold areas, wet areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment.

* The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection.

* Minimal regional travel may be required.
