System Engineer

We are looking for a Systems Engineer join the team to help build out, benchmark test, and troubleshoot the customized HPC/AI/Deep Learning/Hadoop/Cloud infrastructure for our customers including the in-house total solution implementation and the on-site HPC project deployment. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security.

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
* Lab Cluster Server/Network Configuration/Administration
* Write and maintain custom automation scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
* Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
* Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
* Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
* Monitor and benchmark test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions
* Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
* Draft and maintain technical documentations including drawing/diagram
* Provide on-site software deployment/customer acceptance verification test
* Provide post level-1/2 support

* BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
* Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments (Minimum 2 years)
* Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Python, Perl)
* Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
* Solid language programming knowledge (e.g., any of c, c++, c#, .Net, Java)
* Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g.,Apache, GNU, Hadoop, HPC)
* Experience with workload/Resource Managers (e.g., any of Torque, PBS, Slurm)
* Experience with automation software (e.g., Puppet, cfengine, Chef)
* Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box, Docker)
* Travel required for on-site projects

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
