Job Purpose
This job manages the fundamental mass production logistics functions through effective planning, communication, and cross-dock / carrier interface. Apply basic technical and problem-solving skills to prevent and/or minimize impact to operations and support achievement of logistics targets.
Key Accountabilities
- Support mass production logistics activities between Cross-Docks and Carriers to ensure Supplier and Honda plant production requirements are met without interruption.
- Establish and maintain internal and external communication networks to promote positive relationships with Logistics Providers and Honda teams focused on delivery and cost efficiency with continuous improvement activities.
- Identify gaps, evaluate/understand/propose solutions, implement countermeasures, and escalate critical issues to group and/or unit leadership to ensure appropriate allocation of resources in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders from Cross-Docks, Carriers, Packaging, Operations, and Transportation, etc. to support projects and activities relevant to improvement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and countermeasure development.
- Monitor daily Transportation reports to ensure mass production Safety/Service, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Management/Morale targets are acceptable and adjust/escalate with appropriate actions in a timely manner.
- Strive for continuous improvement through cycling Plan/Do/Check/Action (PDCA) for areas of responsibility and initiative through special projects/studies to ensure associate success.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain or equivalent experience Minimum Experience: 0-2+ yrs. equivalent experience Other Job-Specific Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Transportation and/or Supply Chain Management
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication and organization skillset to manage Honda internal and external customers and problem resolution.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work overtime approximately 3-5 hours per week.
- Must be able to work weekends and/or shift change from 1st to 2nd shift to help provide support during peak times of year or as needed.
