Job Description

The Senior Consultant, Monitoring & Testing, is responsible for supporting Visa's Monitoring & Testing (M&T) capability by providing best-in-class risk controls assessments, frameworks, processes, and solutions to data owners and stewards. This individual must be able to work across functions, business units, regions and in deep collaboration with Global Data Office staff to identify best practices and areas of opportunity in data and AI risk management.

This role will be responsible for championing the effort in driving and maturing robust data and AI risk monitoring and controls testing across the enterprise. This includes supporting the design and execution of risk monitoring programs, performing strategic and tactical controls testing, identifying issues, and driving continuous improvement in data and AI risk management throughout the company. This role will partner closely with Visa data stewards as well as stakeholders in Risk, Privacy, Technology, and similar partnered functions

Primary responsibilities

  • Design and execute testing plans, processes, and frameworks to evaluate the design and effectiveness of controls related to data and AI use.
  • Conduct testing reviews to assess effectiveness of controls implemented by the first-line of defense related to data use, data stewardship, data lifecycle management, AI governance, and related initiatives.
  • Perform thematic reviews, deep dives, and sample-based testing to evaluate adequacy of control design.
  • Prepare comprehensive test documentation, working papers, and reports.
  • Ensure all program issues are logged in the issue tracker, monitor for timely remediation, and validate evidence to support issue closure.
  • Test and monitor the effectiveness of data stewardship activities, and stewardship training/certification.
  • Test and monitor the accuracy and completeness of metadata repositories and data lineage documentation to ensure data traceability and transparency.
  • Build and deliver regular reports to communicate program results to senior leadership and governance committees.
  • Collaborate with business, technology, compliance, and risk teams to understand processes, share findings, and provide recommendations for control enhancements.
  • Support with internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and readiness assessments.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

* 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

* 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, advanced degree preferred.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, internal audit, compliance testing or second-line testing, preferably in data and AI governance. Alternatively, experience in data management or risk management, preferably within a large, complex organization.

* Experience with risk assessment and management, particularly related to data and AI governance and lifecycle management risks.

* Experience designing and executing audit or test plans, scripts, and/or procedures.

* Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences.

* Familiarity with data querying and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).

* Ability to work effectively within a large, matrixed organization.

* Excellent problem-solving skills with track record in synthesizing complex information to produce impactful management information and support informed decision making (risk/reward, cost/benefit tradeoffs).

* Business acumen and understanding of the evolving regulatory environment

* Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and sustain relationships across levels and role types, influences and collaborates with all levels, functions and geographies

* Self-starter, works independently, and thrives on driving execution and delivering results.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 174,500.00 to 253,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
