Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Vice President / General Manager for our Electrical Cable & Flexible Conduit (ECFC) Strategic Business Unit to be based out of New Bedford, MA. Reporting to the President - Metal Conduit & Cable Business Unit, this person will be responsible for achieving growth and profit targets by managing commercial and operational staff, establishing and accomplishing business objectives. This role is responsible for achieving all SBU operational metrics and financial results and ensuring that the SBU has the necessary capacity and flexibility to deliver Atkore's business strategy. As such, the VP/GM must maintain strong relationships and connectivity to its key internal and external customers so that capabilities can be put into place ahead of need. This role ensures that the people, financial and technical resources are in place to achieve the organization's mission.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of organizational leadership experience. Experience in lean manufacturing or a business system-based company is a plus.

What you'll do:



  • Provide leadership and vision to the business unit
  • Lead multi-site operation, accomplishing secondary objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements, allocating resources.
  • Develop and execute strategic plan for business growth and profitability
  • Deliver Financial commitment, maximize profits by balancing pricing and volume, etc.
  • Lead organization towards developing standard work and adopting Atkore Business System with a strong focus on lean
  • Drive a results focused culture and accountability to meet performance expectations
  • Maintain quality service by establishing standard work and enforcing organization standards
  • Maintain professional and industry knowledge by attending association meetings and/or tradeshows
  • Increase team's effectiveness by recruiting, training, coaching and addressing performance shortfalls; communicating values, strategies and objectives, assigning accountability, monitoring and appraising job performance; developing incentives that are aligned with corporate and local objectives
  • Ensure that all employees comply with corporate safety programs and are up-to-date with training
  • Develop strategic relationships with key customers and industry associations
  • Organizational development and performance management. Evaluate and upgrade (if necessary) the existing talent found within the business and be responsible for further cultivating a culture that is entrepreneurial, market driven, and competitive
  • Budgeting - establishing and managing all sites against department expenses and improvement objectives
  • Develop and execute a new product development and M&A strategy
  • Ensure that the strategic business unit team honors Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence in all aspects of their daily work.


What you'll bring:



  • Bachelor's Degree is required & master's degree is preferred
  • 10+ years of organizational leadership experience
  • Excellent and proven leadership skill with the ability to engage workforces and foster a winning culture.
  • Strong process-based skill set and lean operations mindset.
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a matrixed environment & effectively leverage resources
  • Well rounded background with sales, marketing and operational experience
  • Track record of building and maintaining a strong and enduring organizations, including development of leaders
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills; must interact effectively with customers, and co-workers in a team-based environment

    As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $229,040 - $343,560. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
