Job Summary:
In support of the Program Management Office (PMO), the Junior Program Control Analyst will report to the Program Finance Lead. The Junior Program Control Analyst position will be expected to provide tangible support to the team by working independently and communicating effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, be exceptionally organized and have the desire to learn and employ problem-solving skills. The candidate must have the ability to work well with others as the PMO works under deadline situations and must respond to changing priorities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Understand the budget for each project and assist Program Manager (PM) with staying current on financial data relative to project.
- Review and understand the monthly revenue, gross profit, and identify any variances
- Review expenses for each project for accuracy and correct project alignment.
- Reconcile actual vs. budget costs per project.
- Monitor & update contract funding allocations, backlog, and periods of performance POPs in project accounting system.
- Review and prepare monthly Estimates at Complete (EACs) and Estimates to Complete (ETCs)
- Preparation and submission of customer invoices & financial deliverables for cost reimbursable Government contracts
- Program financial control functions including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and analysis and reporting.
- Understand unbilled data, accounts receivable and accounts payable relative to projects and assist in managing DSO.
- Applying principles of finance and accounting to analyze financial statements for monthly/quarterly/annual financial outlooks, Estimate at Completions (EAC) and contractual deliverables.
- Oversee subcontracts and ensure that they are kept up to date with any modifications to the prime contracts.
This is a full-time position in the Corporate Headquarters in Columbia, MD.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- 0-2 years of related experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, with intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
- US Citizenship required
