Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced and accomplished individual to support underwater operations onsite in San Diego, including Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) operations and expeditionary missions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in team supervision, ocean safety, and mission-critical solution delivery in dynamic environments. As a member of our team, you will oversee and execute a wide range of underwater operations, including ROV and boat operations; equipment maintenance, inspection, analysis, and repair; and materiel inventory management.

What you will do:

    Support high-performing teams in underwater ROV operations, ensuring safety and delivering mission-critical solutions including operation and maintenance of ROVs and small boats.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute ROV operations, including rigging and open-ocean recovery missions
  • Supervise and execute small boat operations
  • Support and interpret hydrographic surveys and high-resolution seabed maps to ensure safe navigation
  • Utilize sonar data and mission planning tools
  • Direct warehouse logistics, including inventory management and maintenance procedures
  • Collaborate with other operational units to support advanced undersea detection and recovery operations


Qualifications

What you will need:

  • 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree
  • Retired or prior military service in Navy ROV positions
  • Proven track record of operational excellence in high-risk operations
  • Expertise in operating and maintaining ROVs and boats
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong knowledge of safety compliance protocols and regulatory standards
  • Basic knowledge of metal cutting, welding, and fabrication
  • Familiarity with EOD terminology and methodology
  • Software & Tools:
    • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Security Clearance: Secret

Certifications:

  • USA Boating Safety license for California or ability to obtain
  • Certified small boat coxswain or ability to obtain
  • Crane rigging and inspection (CAT 3 non cab qualification) certification or ability to obtain
  • Forklift operator certification or ability to obtain
  • Valid California State Driver's License and Government Vehicle Operator certification

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
