Job Summary Responsible for the overall management, direction and coordination of the plant's production in carrying out Company objectives at the lowest cost consistent with quality requirements. The areas of responsibility include: Inspection (manual, semi-automated and fully automated), Labeling, Packaging, and Inspector Qualifications. Reports directly to the Plant Manager and manages up to 12 department supervisors and up to 250 hourly employees. The Packaging Department is a 7-day operation, which is broken into 3-5 production shifts depending on organizational needs and includes 8 and 12-hour workdays. The Packaging Department consists of 5 Inspection rooms, packaging lines, and the inspection qualification department. Salary Range: $119,149-$166,645 annually + 14% bonus Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities Coordinates the execution of schedules based on sales forecast and plant capacity. Confers with Departmental Managers and supervisors on the application of methods and production standards and adherence to safety programs, cGMP's and good housekeeping practices. Directs the responsibility of the Packaging and Inspection Department on all shifts. Defines and recommends manufacturing objectives; develops specific short-term and long-term plans and programs. Controls a quality and cost of operation through appropriate subordinates. Plans, recommends and maintains the manufacturing expense and budgetary activities. Appraises and evaluates the results of the overall operations regularly and modifies operations and standards for performance as necessary. Coordinates the responsibility with the Production Supervisor in assigned areas of responsibility. Develops and maintains a sound plan of the organization including established policies to ensure adequate staff development. Establishes and maintains effective communications to ensure that all appropriate personnel are informed of plans, programs and operations. Develops department employees through training and establishment of objectives while building employee morale and motivation. Maintains an awareness of developments in the manufacturing and operations fields that relate to job responsibility and integrates them into own practices. Provides a monthly report on the department's performance (or as necessary). Writes investigations reports for lots of product exceeding SOP limits, on an as needed basis. Ensures appropriate input on Packaging/Inspection related investigations. Writes mitigation plans and updates SOP's in Documentum on an as needed basis. Ensures all SOP's and written regulations are in place and up to date. Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's Degree with 8 years overall experience Associate's Degree with 10 years overall experience Minimum of three (3) years managerial experience. FDA regulated industry experience desired Working knowledge of SOP's and cGMP's.
