Position Summary:

This is a 7-month temporary assignment.

The Temporary Automation Technician is responsible for operation and support of computer-controlled systems and robotic manufacturing equipment. Automation Technician will perform a wide range duties associated with the set-up, adjustment and operation of all types of automated manufacturing equipment as well as providing support to maximize efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist Engineering and Maintenance in identifying, analyzing, and correcting manufacturing issues.
  • Ability to diagnose & troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, including automation lines (to recognize and identify potential problems with equipment)
  • Required to perform the following as needed to meet manufacturing schedule:

    • Operate automation and packaging equipment for manufacturing in a regulated environment
    • Machine Set-up and change over per standard operating procedures, includes performing leak testing if applicable.
    • Performing updates, repairs and adjustments of manufacturing equipment.
    • Must be able to remove, replace, align, adjust and make necessary correction on mechanical equipment in a timely matter.
    • Make mechanical and electrical repairs to manufacturing equipment.


  • Provide technical support to resolve automation machinery issues.
  • Incorporate electrical and mechanical skills, necessary to accomplish demanding tasks and to reach critical goals in an automation and controls manufacturing environment.
  • Recommend engineering and maintenance process improvements.
  • Engage in the selection, development, and testing of tools, fixtures, machinery, and equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Assist Engineering and Maintenance departments as needed with projects, engineering studies, and qualification and validation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications Required:

  • Technical or science degree from an accredited college or vocational school with experience in automation is preferred.
  • 0-2 years' experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work cross functionally with other departments.
  • Able to lift up to 50+lbs, stand for long periods of time.
  • Competent written skills including investigation report writing and trend analysis
  • Team player, ambitious, detailed oriented, person that is self-initiating and accountable for their work assignments.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic. Weekend work may be required (customer demand or severe weather).
