job purpose:

The Director, Sustainability will be a key part of the Supply Chain Transformation Team. This role is responsible for working cross functionally across Supply Chain, Animal Welfare and Technical & Innovation to develop, implement and manage a cohesive end-to-end strategy for sustainability within fairlife that aligns with our company's goals and values. This role will involve collaborating with various departments to ensure sustainable practices are integrated into all aspects of our business, from procurement and production through distribution.

responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with internal experts on Dairy and Packaging Sustainability to develop and execute comprehensive sustainability strategies and programs across the end-to-end supply chain
  • Lead initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our operations, including dairy sourcing, ingredients, packaging, energy use, water conservation and transportation
  • Monitor and report on sustainability metrics and progress towards goals
  • Engage internal teams (operations, R&D, procurement, marketing) to embed sustainability into product development and business decisions where it aligns with our goals and values
  • Lead Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance efforts, including tracking and reporting obligations across jurisdictions, managing producer responsibility organization (PRO) relationships, and ensuring accurate data collection and submissions
  • Conduct sustainability audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability
  • Provide training and support to employees on sustainability practices
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and events related to sustainability


skills/qualifications required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Supply Chain, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in sustainability or environmental management, preferably in the dairy industry
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, practices, and regulations
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sustainability programs with validated accounting mechanisms
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment


position location: Webster, NY, Coopersville, MI, Goodyear, AZ or Chicago, IL

reports to: VP, Supply Chain Transformation & Strategy

travel requirements: ~25% - 50%

exempt/nonexempt: exempt

Base pay range:
$160,000 $180,000 USD
