Laboratory Technician

Position Title: Laboratory Technician

Work Location: West Point, PA 19486

Assignment Duration: 12 months

Work Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5 PM M-F

Work Arrangement: On-site

Position Summary: Our organization is seeking a Lab Technician to support a multidisciplinary, highly collaborative discovery team that analyzes and purifies novel medicines prepared by medicinal chemists.

Background & Context:

• The successful candidate will join the High Throughput Purification team within the Discovery Chemistry Department.
  
  Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation of standard solutions.
• Concentration of purified sample solutions.
• Basic UPLC maintenance.
• Managing the ordering and inventory of lab consumables.
• Submitting equipment maintenance requests.
• Maintaining equipment inventories.
• Operating analytical and preparative instrumentation.
• Assisting with work orders and requisitions.
  
  Qualification & Experience:
• Required: High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
• Preferred: BS/BA in chemistry/biochemistry/biology or relevant field with 0-2 years of experience.
• Required Skills and Experience:
  
  
  
  • Experience with basic lab equipment: balances, rotary evaporators, Milli-Q systems, and automatic pipettors.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer programs.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Experience in operation and maintenance of HPLC, LCMS, and flash chromatography.
  • Knowledge of basic chemistry.
  • Experience in making standard solutions.
  • Experience with inventory management.
