In this role, you'll design, develop, and implement sophisticated electromechanical systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software engineering principles. Your work will directly contribute to operational excellence and improved product quality, using data-driven insights to minimize manual intervention and enhance reliability. What You Will Do:
  • Design and develop advanced control systems that power the future of automation.
  • Lead the integration of hardware, software, and data across multi-disciplinary, technology-driven teams.
  • Implement forward-thinking technologies with built-in quality assurance features like poka-yoke systems and real-time data communication.
  • Collaborate closely with IT teams to ensure seamless system integration and robust network security.
  • Deliver cutting-edge, data-driven MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) aligned with Industry 4.0 standards.
  • Program and specify a variety of robotics platforms to meet diverse operational needs.
  • Create precise electrical diagrams and prints to support implementation and shop floor execution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues in dynamic manufacturing settings.
  • Mentor and guide team members in robotics programming and applications, supporting skill growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Oversee project budgets and ensure responsible resource allocation.
  • Provide dependable support for system implementations, fostering strong customer and team relationships.
What You Bring:
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in industrial equipment design and/or build environments.
  • Proven expertise in developing and integrating systems using PLCs, PC-based controls, and data-centric optimization strategies.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, particularly using ladder logic.
  • A strong grasp of Industry 4.0 concepts and MES technologies.
  • Experience with microprocessors, PC-based control systems, and vision-based quality assurance tools.
  • A creative approach to designing and prototyping process improvements.
  • Confidence in debugging and troubleshooting in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
  • Enthusiasm for coaching, mentoring, and supporting the development of others.
  • A problem-solving mindset paired with sharp analytical thinking and adaptability.
Work Environment:
  • Approximately 80% of your time will involve office or shop floor design work; 20% hands-on debugging and commissioning.
  • Work primarily in a quiet office environment, with regular visits to the production floor.
  • Frequent sitting, computer work, and standing; occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs.), stair climbing, bending, and walking.
  • Exposure to varying temperature, humidity, and dust levels in manufacturing areas.
  • Required PPE: safety shoes, earplugs, and safety glasses when on the shop floor.
Travel:
  • Minimal travel required (less than 15%).
