Job Summary James Avery is excited to announce an Engineering internship in Manufacturing. The Engineering Intern will have an opportunity to work with experienced professionals to support engineering efforts through engineering projects. The Engineering Intern will develop skills through training and practical application to successfully participate in hands-on engineering projects on manufacturing floor supporting ongoing engineering efforts to improve process deficiencies through deployment of new technologies and validations, including data capture for time studies, yields and safety. Actively participates in departmental meetings by preparing periodic reports on learnings and progress. Identifies and discusses opportunities for improvements on assigned projects. Essential Functions *Performs the following essential functions closely supervised by the Manufacturing Engineer, Section Leader and/or Management: o Assists with validating new equipment sets and technologies and defines working procedures for manufacturing associates. o Helps review safety features and aspects of new equipment sets and technologies and collaborates with the training department on creating training documentation. o Observes and notes recommendations for continuous improvements that could enhance quality, efficiency and review collected data with Manufacturing Engineer. o Performs engineering time studies using basic statistics following established procedure. o Reviews routings and work instructions for assigned product Designs prior to data collection. o Actively participates in periodic continuous improvement meetings with other engineers and manufacturing management. o Performs additional duties and works on various engineering projects as assigned by Manufacturing Engineer. Minimum Qualifications *Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Engineering or related field with an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 grade point scale. *Must have a valid State Driver's License and be able to meet James Avery's driving requirements. *Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. *Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. *Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. *Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and manage frequent interruptions. *Must be able to work a flexible schedule when business need requires. *Ability to travel to other work locations as needed. Preferred Qualifications *Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in an accredited college or university with a minimum of 60 semester hours or graduate student pursuing a degree in Industrial Manufacturing, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Metallurgy or recent graduate in these related fields.
