Job Description

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • The purpose of the internship is to provide a current bootcamp, certificate, college student, or recent graduate with practical, hands-on experience in a technical setting while contributing to meaningful research projects that support the goals of the department and organization. The intern will gain exposure to day-to-day operations, develop key professional skills, and explore potential career paths.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Partner with experienced UX researchers to conduct end-to-end user research and usability testing.

    • Develop test plans, conduct testing, analyze results, and document findings.

    • Collaborate with UX designers, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams.

    • Assist in maintaining and updating departmental databases, spreadsheets, and content management systems for the user research toolkit.

    • Help create and update documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures.

    • Perform data entry, validation, cleanup, and basic reporting using Excel, Google Sheets, or database tools.

    • Present a final project or summary of learning to the team at the end of the internship.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Basic understanding of databases, spreadsheets, and office productivity tools (e.g., Excel formulas, Google Forms, SharePoint)

    • Strong analytical, technical troubleshooting, and organizational skills

    • Comfortable learning and using new systems and applications

    • Ability to be comfortable with ambiguity and asking for help when needed

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow data security protocols

    • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail

    Experience

    • Currently enrolled in or recently completed courses, certification, or degree in UX design, usability testing, user research, human factors, anthropology, psychology, or a related field.

    • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship during the internship period.

    • Must be in good academic standing with an expected graduation date.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Interest in higher education and lifelong learning

Position & Application Details

Part-time Regular Positions (classified as regular and working less than 30 standard weekly hours): This is a part-time, regular position (classified for less than 30 SWH) that is eligible for vision and mental healthcare; flexible spending account; voluntary life insurance; accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity supplemental coverages; legal and identity theft coverage; retirement savings plan; wellbeing program; discounted WGU tuition; and prorated paid holidays and accrued sick time.
