JOB SUMMARY
The Laboratory Services Supply Chain Technician plays a vital role in the smooth and efficient operation of the Laboratory Services department by attending to the end-to-end supply requisitioning, replenishment, distribution, and inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagents, proactively anticipating needs and maintaining optimal inventory levels to support uninterrupted laboratory services.

JOB DUTIES



  • Manages supply replenishment and inventory accuracy.
  • Requisitioning supply replenishment using a bar code scanner.
  • Monitoring and validating the accuracy of all bar code labels through monthly PAR mapping.
  • Identifying and notifying the Inventory Coordinator of inaccurate inventory levels and any bar code label discrepancies.
  • Handles incoming shipments.
  • Unloading, inspecting, and verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy and any damage.
  • Dispose of boxes.
  • Addresses Supply Issues and Inquiries.
  • Notifying the Inventory Coordinator of all back orders and/or stock outs.
  • Contacting the Inventory Coordinator regarding order inquiries, discrepancies, and returns.
  • Assisting the Lab Inventory Coordinator in identifying and resolving problems related to supply shortages, incorrect items, quality concerns, and customer challenges.
  • Maintains stock and storage.
  • Organizing and stocking received items in designated storage areas, ensuring proper rotation of stock (FIFO - First-In, First-Out) to prevent expiration.
  • Regularly checking for and removing expired reagents and supplies according to established procedures.
  • Ensuring that all storage areas are clean, organized, and maintain appropriate environmental conditions.
  • Facilitates supply delivery.
  • Picking and preparing supplies for delivery to various Laboratories, Clinics, and Phlebotomy locations based on submitted Clinical Laboratory Supply requisitions.
  • Ensuring compliance and communication.
  • Adhering to all hospital and laboratory policies and procedures, including safety regulations and infection control practices.
  • Confirmation of tube and reagent validations.
  • Communicating effectively with laboratory technologists, supervisors, and other personnel regarding supply availability, order status, and any potential issues.
  • Performs all other job duties as assigned.
