JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Device Support Specialist, New Indications is a key position within the Center of Excellence business unit. The primary role of this position is to support oncology patients utilizing Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) therapy in the United States. The DSS focuses on educating patients and their caregivers on TTFields according to product labeling and integrating TTFields into daily routines in order to reach usage goals. The DSS collaborates regularly with other departments to address the changing needs of patients and caregivers. The role may also be required to assist with commercial patients, determined by business needs.

This is an exempt, full-time, field-based position reporting to the Regional Manager, New Indications DSS, The Americas and APAC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Support and honor our "Patient Forward" mission by ensuring patients are at the center of every interaction; providing compassionate, high-quality care and service
  • Travel to patient homes, physician offices or healthcare centers, to conduct regular visits which include:

    • Educate patients on TTFields therapy and initiating treatment
    • Provide ongoing enhanced training sessions for patients and caregivers
    • Perform technical analysis and equipment maintenance with troubleshooting and equipment replacement as needed
    • Collect and analyze patient data during monthly follow-up visits and provide individualized coaching with appropriate resources as needed
    • To ensure accessibility and flexibility for patients, some duties may be conducted through virtual visits


  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding when interacting with patients and their caregivers
  • Follow established timelines and guidelines for patient interactions; ensuring consistency and quality of care
  • Provide timely support to patients, including phone, virtual, and in-person assistance, sometimes on short notice or outside normal business hours (including weekends and holidays)
  • Manage responsibilities and workload independently within your designated territory
  • Maintain open communication with manager and cross-functional partners to ensure effective patient care and healthcare provider support
  • Attend SIVs to present the role of the Device Support Specialist
  • Serve as technical interface between the Company, patients and assigned medical centers
  • Participate in regular assessments and demonstrate ongoing learning and adoption of new SOP changes
  • Manage administrative tasks in a timely and efficient manner, including but not limited to:

    • Documentation in customer relationship management (CRM) system
    • Expense reporting
    • Equipment inventory management
    • Ongoing trainings, assessments, and other regulatory tasks


  • Regular travel by vehicle and air to support patient care and service needs - up to 80%
  • Adhere to guidelines for the administration, maintenance, and cleanliness of fleet vehicle
  • Adapt to frequently changing business needs and schedules to ensure seamless patient support


  • Lead, launch, and participate in clinical trial initiatives such as, but not limited to, conference calls, team meetings, training courses and projects
  • Maintain regular communication with the DSS Leadership Team and support the resolution of logistical and documentation issues by identifying problems, developing solutions, and reporting outcomes.
  • Serve as a preceptor to field team members, and help support them in their clinical trial responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:

    • Fulfilling field training requirements
    • Proper assessment of technical status of device components
    • Enhancing troubleshooting technique
    • Reinforce patient training as necessary
    • Offer guidance around proper data collection, analysis, and clear communication with patients
    • Provide guidance on administrative tasks
    • Establishing and maintaining effective work relationships


  • Serve as a Mentor to the DSS, New Indications field team by offering support and guidance while facilitating a collaborative approach across functional groups
  • Participate in annual career enhancement and/or personal growth opportunities in the form of continued education as approved or delegated by management
  • Assist in DSS, New Indications interviews, when needed
  • Serve as backup support to the NI DSS Manager, assisting with leadership responsibilities as required



QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:



  • 5 years minimum F/T experience as a Device Support Specialist (DSS) and/or per DSS Regional Manager's recommendation
  • Demonstrated proficiency in DSS role and responsibilities including:

    • Mastery of TTFields explanation and implementation to patients in the clinical trial and/or commercial setting
    • Proficient understanding of clinical trial patient support processes, clinical trial protocols, and SIV process
    • Proven ability to work in a very dynamic organization with minimal supervision,
    • Good judgment, excellent written and oral communication skills and sound decision making skills
    • Impact/Influence on the broader organization. Contributed to the collective knowledgebase through initiatives beyond normal DSS duties





OTHER:



  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Amount of travel required is dependent on patient needs and location and may include occasional overnight stays - may require up to 80% travel
  • Ability to drive long distances
  • Potential after hours on-call support for patients as needed
