Overview

Waters Corporation is currently seeking an individual to join our organization as a Principal Product Owner for our Empower Software Portfolio. The successful candidate will be experienced in the use of chromatography software solutions for the routine use/service/support of analytical instrumentation. Additionally, a deep understanding of how Empower and related software systems are evaluated, deployed, and administered in support of analytical laboratories is preferred.

In this role, you will use your understanding of user needs to plan, prioritize, and drive commercialization and development decisions surrounding Empower applications. This includes managing a well-organized backlog, ensuring timely prioritization of features and customer-requested fixes to deliver impactful solutions.

We are looking for a Product Owner who can collaborate with users, researchers, designers, marketing, service, and sales colleagues, as well as other stakeholders across the business to solve critical problems for our customers and bring to market new features. We want to find someone who will become an advocate for our users and relentless in seeking ways to deliver products that exceed their expectations.



Responsibilities

    Serve as the subject matter expert of Empower's capabilities, use cases, limitations, and customer feedback both internally and externally (e.g. demos and customer interactions)
  • Engage with various stakeholders to provide support and make data-driven product development and backlog decisions
  • Collaborate with sales, pricing, and marketing teams to provide product-level insights that inform positioning, commercial models, and competitive strategies
  • Own and maintain the roadmap while effectively communicating and managing expectations across teams
  • Organizing, leading, and documenting interactions with customers leading to high value feature additions and roadmap items
  • Aligning product lifecycle with other Waters products and services


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Life Science, or other related scientific discipline; Master's or PhD preferred
  • 8+ years' experience using liquid chromatography and laboratory data systems in one or more of Waters primary markets; hands on experience with Empower CDS is required
  • Qualities required:

  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (estimated: maximum 10-15% of time)

Preferred:

  • Experience with non-chromatographic analytical instruments in the QA/QC environment (e.g. CE, microplate readers, UV-Vis or Raman spectrometers etc.) is desirable
  • An appreciation of APIs and third-party software integrations
  • Basic analytical and financial acumen
  • Understanding of the regulatory compliance space of pharmaceutical manufacturing
