The Senior Foreman is responsible for organizing, directing, supervising and coordinating construction activities at a job site.

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:



  • Work procedures, scheduling, cost control
  • Establishment of manpower levels
  • Monitoring and implementation of safety programs
  • Develop a project plan for sequence of construction, equipment, materials, manpower and site layout
  • Develop a daily plan for the next day's activities, communicate daily plan to the crew in the daily job briefing
  • Coordinate two to three week look ahead schedule with Superintendent; coordinate need for additional manpower or equipment on the site
  • Coordinate/confirm all necessary items are on the site of scheduled for delivery
  • Plan and control labor costs to complete project within budgeted amount
  • Preview job site daily to assess degree of readiness
  • Responsible for the satisfactory conduct of all construction operations and task accomplishment in an economical, efficient and timely manner on a project
  • Monitor craft performance relative to budget, schedules and deadlines
  • Implement and enforce work rules
  • Requisition tools, materials and equipment in accordance with established procedures and necessary lead times
  • Prepare and review drawings and schedules to determine work phases and work priorities
  • Determine and recommend solutions to construction and architectural discrepancies
  • Monitor manpower utilization, effectiveness and productivity
  • Facilitate the efficient use of personnel and equipment
  • Coordinate movement and use of equipment and supplies with procurement
  • Inspect fieldwork to evaluate construction progress, efficiency of operation and cost control
  • Responsible for overall project workmanship and goal attainment
  • Work with subcontractors on scheduling issues
  • Coordinate with QA/QC as well as the owner to confirm our quality of work
  • Be highly involved with on-the-job training
  • Continuously maintain and update comprehensive inventory list of ALL resources assigned to them and be responsible for the condition and security of same
  • Carry out job duties while maintaining Lane values
  • And other duties as assigned



Qualifications:



  • At least 7 years of prior experience for a recognized Heavy/Highway contractor
  • At least 5 years of prior experience supervising construction crews of all trades including carpenters, operators, drivers, etc.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, while having the ability to maintain an extremely safe work environment
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with DOT standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be considered at a master's level at his/her craft.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of all crafts.
  • Must have very strong math computation skills.
