Summary

Act in pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based data solutions. Create scalable data pipelines, optimizing data storage solutions, and ensure data integrity and security in the CAE C/HPC environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the development of open architectures and applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms to ensure they are best suited for Cloud deployment and consumption.

  • Support the adoption of Cloud best practices and supporting technologies to enable such capabilities as Big Data/Analytics, design, development, troubleshoot, and implementation of cloud solutions

  • Zettabyte Technologies

  • Work closely with the Information Technology Security team to ensure the applications and solutions designed and deployed are secure and compliant.

  • Effectively Interface with Customer personnel at varying organizational levels

  • Must be self-motivated and expected to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Report status on tasks and assignments

  • Must be able to generate preliminary and detailed designs as required for enhancements or modifications to existing designs, requiring the application of current industry design concepts and utilization of basic technical writing skills.

  • Must be able to perform effectively as part of a project "team".

  • Experience with several of the following tools and Platforms Docker, Linux, VMware, Condor, Large Data Storage.

  • Monitoring Software

  • Communicate with Upper and Mid-level Management

  • Manage High Performance Computing Environments

  • Active Directory Administration

  • Network Administration

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field required.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in a specific technology practice (Infrastructure, Storage, Security, Windows, Linux, etc.) for both on premise and cloud resources

  • Minimum of 5+ years networking and server operating system experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in container management technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

  • Experience using a source code repository such as Git

  • Experience using a defect management system such as Jira

  • Experience using Bash, Python and PowerShell scripting languages

  • Proven success in a fast-paced development environment and possess a willingness to take ownership, accept accountability, and thrive under pressure

  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.

  • Proven track record of building relationships, fostering collaboration and working cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams

  • Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work and site travel

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, datacenter environments.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • The ability to work at a desk for eight hours

  • Must be able to travel domestic sites

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
