Overview

To manage the daily operations of a team responsible for implementing security needs and ensuring complex compliance cyber security standards. Ensures effective implementation and alignment with organizational objectives. The Manager I manages professionals and/or leaders and is accountable for the performance and results of a team. Decisions are guided by policies, resources and business plan. Develop, manage and guide execution of operational initiatives to achieve tactical objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the implantation of network security technologies that are new to Navy Federal
  • Oversees the microsegmentation program
  • Track numerous projects to ensure the projects remain on task and on schedule
  • Lead a team of security engineers in developing and verifying security standards for hardening infrastructure and development pipelines
  • Oversee the implementation of monitoring and incident response patterns for the security operations center, ensuring integration with SEIM/SOAR technologies
  • Collaborate with threat vulnerability management and risk management teams to secure the network environment and achieve global information security program objectives
  • Monitor performance metrics to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of services provided
  • Coordinate with internal security teams and vendors to implement security controls that protect corporate assets from security breaches
  • Manage the remediation and maintenance of reported system application vulnerabilities in adherence with enterprise Change Management Policy and Incident Response Procedures
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members on the systems engineering lifecycle and security initiatives
  • Makes recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology
  • Focus is on tactical, operational activities within a specified area
  • Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training or experience
  • 5 to 7 years relative work experience
  • 1 to 3 years of management experience; or equivalent experience as the subject matter lead or expert in area of expertise
  • Knowledge of enterprise-grade security technologies and capabilities (e.g. Palo Alto Firewalls, Checkpoint Firewalls, Illumio Core Microsegmentation, etc.)
  • Knowledge of cyber/information security systems engineering lifecycle
  • Knowledge of current threat landscape, adversary tactics, techniques and procedures
  • Knowledge of information security programs, data security practices and procedures, including risk identification/assessment
  • Knowledge of SDLC and change management practices
  • Broad knowledge of the cyber security engineering function with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to guide, influence and persuade others internally and externally
