Job Description
JOB TITLE: Supply Chain Associate LOCATION: Capewell Aerial Systems - South Windsor, CT REPORTS TO: Materials Manager POSITION SUMMARY: The incumbent is primarily responsible for managing inventory, planning, scheduling, and prioritizing activities within the supply chain function for all Capewell product lines. Capewell product lines include, but are not limited to, EDDs, Capewell and Frost Releases, ripcord assemblies, and airdrop platforms. This role is designed for growth, and the ideal candidate should have the skills and potential to take on greater supervisory and supply chain management responsibilities following the current material manager's retirement. However, advancement will depend on the individual's demonstrated aptitude, performance, and readiness during the training period. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership of purchasing, planning, scheduling, and overall MRP responsibilities in VISUAL Manufacturing ERP System.
- Ensure timely delivery of purchased goods; raw, fabricated, and service items to support production delivery schedules.
- Evaluate new vendors for qualifications as to quality / price / service.
- Negotiate price, delivery, and terms with supply chain.
- Expedite internal and external orders.
- Update part parameters within VISUAL ERP System.
- Coordinates make/buy decisions including part structure with engineering.
- Supports and leads continuous improvement efforts in areas of responsibility.
- Coordinates production needs with planning, manufacturing, and shipping.
- Responsible for controlling inventory levels to annual goals.
- Develop value-added relationships internally and externally.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Work cooperatively with other employees to meet department and company goals.
- This position requires personal protective equipment on the shop floor where safety glasses and composite toe safety shoes are required by all.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors or management to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred but not required
- High School Diploma required
- AS9100 compliance experience
- Must have a good grasp of inventory control and cycle counting
- Strong understanding of the quote-to-cash workflow in a manufacturing setting
- Strong proficiency of ERP systems and product quality
- Knowledge of work order generation
- Minimum three years supervisory experience or relevant peer-leadership experience
- Minimum two years of purchasing experience
- Proven track record of success
- Proven capacity to learn quickly in both self-directed and guided environments
- Mechanical aptitude
- Mental flexibility
- Proficient in blueprint reading
- Computer literate
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience delegating duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Position will work primarily in an office environment with a low noise level but may occasionally have exposure to the production floor with moderate to excessive noise.
- This is a full-time, onsite position.
- The work schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday 7:30AM - 5:00PM and every other Friday 7:30AM - 4:00PM with a 30-minute lunch break.
