This is a leading role in the pre-sales organization to support Nokia Sales and Account teams in the sales lifecycle of Nokia network automation products and services, including: technical consulting, business development, custom and standard solution design and definition using Nokia SW, contribution to the commercial offer and pricing strategy, and hand-off to post-sales organization for deployment and delivery of the automation solutions. In this role you will provide technical and business consulting services to CSPs and enterprises on deployment, integration, and operationalization of Nokia Network Services Platform (NSP) product features and services to complement the management, control and automation of IP and IP-Optical network equipment, architecture, and services. You will track sales opportunities, and work closely with Regional PLM representative(s) to collect and track customer needs and requirements to drive/influence product features & roadmap in the IP and NSP Business Division(s). You may be asked to execute these tasks remotely or travel to the customer site for consultations on technical requirements, product demo, presentations, product release and roadmap discussions, and operational training and assistance.



  • We're looking for an outstanding Consulting Engineer to join our IP Network Automation Consulting Team. In this role you will be an expert on the Nokia NSP suite of IP and IP-Optical Automation, Analytics, Assurance and SDN products.
  • You have hands-on experience in demonstrating product features and capabilities of the Nokia NSP IP Automation Suite, or similar competitive products, to manage, control and streamline IP/MPLS infrastructure, routing, and service functions including analytics, automation, IP/MPLS resource control, Segment Routing, and L2/L3 services (VLL, VPLS, IP VPN, VPRN, etc).
  • You can confidently plan, prepare, and deliver customer training presentations, whiteboard elaborations, and product demos on the adoption, deployment and integration of IP network management and automation SW technologies.
  • You have demonstrated experience in leading and coordinating pre-sales activities with Regional, Account & Sales teams, business & opportunity development, solution definition, responding to customer requirements/RFPs, pricing strategy and commercial offers, and handoff to post-sales organizations for customer delivery, deployment and integration.
  • You have experience in customer engagement from staff to executive levels, including a demonstrated ability to translate technical capabilities of product/solutions to business drivers and confidently explain the satisfaction of a customer's strategic objectives.
  • You are passionate about software tools and technologies enabling automation of IT/OSS and network management operations and can provide technical consulting to telecommunication service providers and enterprises looking to simplify, control and automate the management of their transport networks using Nokia IP and IP-Optical Automation products. Network automation solutions will primarily be in areas of IP core, IP aggregation, IP edge/access, data center architecture (leaf/spine), mobile backhaul, Network Function Virtualization, and Software Defined Networking.


You have:



  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges to satisfy business requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science or closely related technical fields. Post-graduate degree/work in a secondary business discipline is desirable.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience as an IP Network Management focused Consulting Engineer, field engineer, systems engineer, sales engineer, consulting systems engineer, technical marketing engineer, or closely related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in Network Management and IP Automation products with a heavy preference toward Nokia NSP/5620 SAM in the management of IP routing and related technologies, i.e. SNMP, NETCONF/YANG.
  • 2+ years of experience working with high and low-level designs/solutions in IP Network Management, preparation and execution of customer trials and proof-of-concept tests, feature planning, network architecture design, OSS/BSS integration design, platform resource planning, and creation of device/service configurations.



It would be nice if you had:



  • Experience working in network management of the following Nokia products, or earlier versions of these products: NSP, 7950 XRS, 7750 SR, 7210 SAS, 7705 SAR and MPR 9500, or any of our direct competitors' (Cisco, Juniper, etc.) similar competitive products.
  • Preferred experience with development and/or API integration via REST, RESTCONF/YANG, Kafka, NetConf, SOAP/XML, YAML, YAQL, Javascript, and open-source libraries and toolkits for network automation
  • Familiarity with IP Routing technologies, including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, VPLS, VXLAN, VLAN, Segment Routing, Switching/Bridging is highly desirable
  • Experience in facilitating the shift towards SW deployment in virtualization and cloud technologies, and deployment of cloud-native applications in Kubernetes & containerized environments.
