Job Description

Is integral to the business in any decisions that may be impacted by technology, serving as consultant to business units in planning and coordinating systems analysis, design and implementation projects to automate processing or improve business systems. Analyzes business partner's operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions. Gathers business needs as well as the design of solutions through direct interaction with business unit leaders. Focuses on developing and improving business processes, assisting with the development of metrics, both within the technology and business organizations.

Functions as primary liaison between Finance teams, IT teams and internal and external customer teams requiring technical and non-technical services relate to financial systems. Works closely with both development staff and the user community to establish and manage projects, business processes, and test plans. Performs a liaison role between user areas to assist in the identification of process improvements, system design, testing and implementation of large and/or complex technical projects, often requiring coordination of multiple functional areas.

Interacts with project teams, application teams, architects, and users. Formulates systems, processes and procedures to parallel and strengthen overall business strategies. Consults with internal customers of IT and Finance team to capture agreed-upon business objectives and processes, communicating these processes and their implications to technical and non-technical contributors to ensure that technology accurately meets business users' goals. Ensures the reliable performance, maintenance and support of Financial systems.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzes simple to moderately complex business processes, functions and procedures to determine the most effective business systems technology to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Conducts business requirements reviews.
  • Participates in system development and design.
  • Defines and documents detailed design requirements.
  • Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties.
  • Ensures the reliable performance, maintenance and support of financial system.
  • Manages the planning and reporting systems, ensuring they are performing optimally, are stable, reliable and properly supported. Ensures proper security is in place.
  • Maintains structural and data integrity, i.e. system attributes and hierarchies are accurate and current, and data is properly reconciled between planning and reporting applications.
  • Analyzes systems to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions. Facilitates process to gather high level and detailed business requirements.
  • Resolves system related hardware and software problems and coordinates implementation and upgrades with IT counterparts. Evaluates new releases of software and system upgrades.
  • Establishes maintenance practices and procedures associated with new releases, patches and hot fixes coordinating with the IT organization where necessary.
  • Interfaces with vendors when necessary and manages vendor support agreements.
  • Writes user documentation and training materials and performs training for users.
  • Manage and support internal System and 3rd party applications/integrations such as SAP ECC, BW, BPC, PowerPlan, PowerTax, Trintech, internal Business Intelligence systems
  • Participates and leads projects to design, test and implement systems and applications:
  • Identifies and proposes technology solution requirements across business customers. Ensures that the design and integration of proposed system solutions leads to the development and growth of the business through effective use of technology.
  • Formulates test plans and coordinates/performs testing.
  • Focuses on developing and improving business processes, assisting with the development of metrics within the business organization.
  • Supports other finance duties as assigned including corporate reporting, benchmarking and Key Performance Indicators.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Strong Data analytic, business process improvement, and system trouble shooting
  • Knowledge of accounting, budget and finance
  • Strong SQL querying
  • Good understanding of IT Infrastructure services and delivery processes
  • Demonstrated team leadership and facilitation techniques
  • Experience in business case development
  • Has a strong understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success for the relevant business
  • Self-starter
  • Demonstrated creative thinking and analytical skills
  • Outstanding attention to details, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to work effectively without direct supervision in a fast paced, stressful, and multitasking environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Vision

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a quantitative field or MBA
  • Utility industry, IT Project or related experience
  • Experience with SAP, BW, PowerPlant, Oracle Database, BPC, Trinitech, PowerBI, Blue Prism, Altrix, Microsoft Power Query, VBA, BPC logic script
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, and adapt and react to unforeseen business decisions and situations
  • Ability to drive solutions/decisions beyond area of expertise and proactively addresses potential issues
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Previous experience managing small to mid-sized projects

The pay range for this position is$91,100.00-$151,600.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
