The Director of Operations will oversee and optimize all aspects of our manufacturing and production environment, including supply chain, quality assurance, process improvement, logistics, and facilities. This leadership role requires a proactive operator who can drive results, streamline systems, and build strong cross-functional teams in a highly regulated and fast-paced industry.
The ideal candidate is a decisive leader with a deep understanding of defense manufacturing, compliance standards, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership over manufacturing, production planning, inventory, procurement, quality, and facilities.
  • Ensure operational excellence through KPI development, root cause analysis, and implementation of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to deliver high-quality products on-time and within budget.
  • Drive operational readiness and scalability to support new contracts, customer demands, and regulatory changes.
  • Manage direct reports and department leads; mentor and develop high-performing teams.
  • Maintain compliance with ITAR, ISO, AS9100, and other relevant standards.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership on operational strategy, budget planning, and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in operations, preferably within the defense, aerospace, or complex manufacturing sectors.
  • 5+ years people leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality systems (ISO/AS9100, ITAR, DFARS).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a regulated, fast-paced production environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Skilled in ERP systems, supply chain optimization, and manufacturing analytics.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance if required.
