We are currently seeking an HR Business Consultant to join the Sentry team! As an HR Business Consultant, you will provide a broad range of strategic human resources services to leaders within the business area(s) you support.
What You'll Do As an HR Business Consultant, you will:
Build engaging relationships with business leaders and develop trust and business acumen to deliver on business needs. Identify, define and recommend solutions to address the needs of the business while taking account of the broad impact on the business and HR strategies. Utilize key business/HR metrics and data to monitor changes or trends and examines results. Communicate and provide interpretation of results to business units to influence outcomes and aid decision making. Facilitate HR programs and services in line with the business area's strategic plan. Provide end-to-end HR support from needs assessment through delivery and evaluation of implemented solutions. Execute on programs, processes, or resources that drive workforce development, engagement and retention for assigned business area(s). Build business expertise and a deep understanding of operations with intent to impact business results. Collaborate with HR centers of excellence to ensure consistency in communications and implementation of updates and changes. Provide additional programs, communications or resources in areas such as performance management, employee relations, recruitment, compensation, career development and leadership development to meet the specific needs of the business function.
Additionally, you will:
Lead projects and act as the go-to change management advocate throughout the project life cycle. Partner or manage key processes related to employee relations, staffing, training, performance management, succession planning, compensation and benefits for business partners. Conduct reviews of HR activities to ensure compliance with federal and state laws. Remain up to date on legislature and upcoming changes that impact on the business. May conduct investigations and gather and compile data on individual issues and make recommendations for action based on the compiled findings. Collaborate with our Legal department as necessary.
What it Takes
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years related work experience. Demonstrated leadership and professionalism. Demonstrated business expertise with knowledge of HR processes and procedures and how they can be applied to business strategy to influence results. HR Generalist skills to include compensation, employee development, benefits, and organizational development. Thorough knowledge of major HR disciplines and demonstrated ability to provide HR support to their business partners at the highest level. Solid understanding of fair employment practices and regulations. Proven ability to navigate and manage complex employee relations issues.
