Purpose of the Job The Training & Development Specialist-Collections designs, develops, delivers, and evaluates quality training/orientation programs that meet business and human performance objectives, which ultimately enhance staff's abilities to enhance the lives of our member-owners. Additionally, this role functions as a curriculum developer and serves as the liaison between Training, subject-matter experts and business units. The main responsibilities will include transforming information into consistent and viable training documentation/materials to be delivered in a variety of mediums. The documentation/materials created will translate complex information and terminology on our core application systems, work flows, and end user usability information into simplified language that meets the needs and abilities of the intended audience. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Partners with business units and subject-matter experts to clearly define training needs and information that need to be disseminated throughout the organization. Creates quality training programs that incorporate necessary and appropriate adult learning methodologies. Demonstrates proficiency in using online self-authoring tools such as Articulate to produce high-quality e-learning. Proactively seeks ways to make communications, instructions, FAQ, etc. concise and simple for the end user considering the needs and abilities of the audience. Conducts audience and task analysis to determine skills and objectives to be taught. Creates professional materials to assist in training delivery such as facilitator guides, participant workbooks, job aids, skill checks, role-plays, scenarios etc. in a timely manner. Keeps abreast of developments in the training industry including presentation aids, equipment, presentation techniques, adult learning methodology, and related topics. Determines appropriate delivery methods for training content (i.e. classroom, CBT etc.) that promotes efficiencies and expedites speed to competency. Confers with management and departments to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training for employees to better understand changes in culture, policies, procedures, regulations and technologies with emphasis on member products and services, compliance and security. Schedules classes based on classroom and equipment availability. Assesses and communicates training participants' strengths, weaknesses in specific skills and behaviors. Maintains and updates training materials and trainee tools on a continual basis. Measures and evaluates effectiveness of training/orientation programs and/or job performance products/software. Maintains and tracks all training functions accurately and in a timely manner in Learning Management System software (Truliant Academy). Utilizes, promotes and maintains accuracy of training documents in Knowledge Management System in a timely manner. Maintains responsibility and care for training equipment, accessories, and classrooms. Maintains training documents, manuals, job aides etc. are kept up-to-date in knowledge management system (Truliant Library)

Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for long periods of time in order to conduct training sessions Occasional walking, bending, and stooping required Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds
Education and Background
A Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience or relevant certifications may be considered 2+ years previous training or financial services experience required 1-3 years' experience with curriculum development required Collections experience highly preferred Franklin Covey or Development Dimensions International certifications preferred ATD certifications or membership preferred Experience with Articulate/Camtasia/Snag-it self-authoring software preferred Experience with learning and knowledge management systems software preferred
