Director of Sourcing Purchasing Full Time 85495BR Job Summary The Director of Sourcing oversees the development and execution of the organization's sourcing strategy and Value Analysis Team (VAT) initiatives, including vendor performance, supply chain management, clinical effectiveness, and value analysis. This individual collaborates with senior management to establish business objectives for sourcing services and engages in strategic initiatives across clinical areas, facilities, clinical engineering, purchased services, capital, and corporate services. The role leads a value analysis program focused on clinical and non-clinical improvement, product review, evaluation, selection, implementation, clinical value analysis, evidence-based medicine, and cost containment. The Director provides leadership and oversees category managers conducting strategic sourcing initiatives with the aim is to optimize patient care, enhance safety and satisfaction, drive value, and improve supply chain performance through strategic sourcing initiatives. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $129,600 - $303,800 (Annual Rate). The department oversees all aspects of purchasing, contracting, sourcing, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relations, with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and sustainability. As a strategic partner to clinical, research, and administrative departments, Supply Chain is instrumental in driving operational excellence, reducing costs, and enhancing patient care outcomes through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. The team operates within a complex academic medical center environment, requiring strong collaboration across UCSF Health, UCSF campus, and UC system-wide initiatives. Required Qualifications
