Category Manager Purchasing Full Time 85498BR Job Summary Uses advanced professional concepts and organizational objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Works on categories of broad and diverse complexity where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Contacts are both internal and external to the department at all levels. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $115,400 - $173,100 (Annual Rate). The department oversees all aspects of purchasing, contracting, sourcing, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relations, with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and sustainability. As a strategic partner to clinical, research, and administrative departments, Supply Chain is instrumental in driving operational excellence, reducing costs, and enhancing patient care outcomes through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. The team operates within a complex academic medical center environment, requiring strong collaboration across UCSF Health, UCSF campus, and UC system-wide initiatives. Required Qualifications
