Department Overview

PG&E's Business Finance team provides critical financial support to its operational Business Partners within the company. This support includes financial analysis, budgeting, planning and forecasting, monitoring, controlling and accounting; operational performance reporting and analysis; and strategic planning and analysis. These services are critical to achieving the company's strategic, operational and financial objectives.

The Business Finance department provides a unique environment for energized and talented finance professionals to engage in the business as valued functional advisors, make meaningful contributions to the direction of a dynamic business, and be actively developed and recognized.

Position Summary

The Senior Business Analyst will support the Information Technology (IT) line of business including business managers and directors, as well as the Business Finance Extended Leadership team to define and achieve the team's strategic objectives, provide support to help drive decisions to budgets, planning and other finance and accounting needs. You will integrate with the business organization to influence and drive cross team collaboration. You must be a clear and concise communicator with written communication skills, strong analytical and quantitative skills, a background in finance or accounting, poise in working with many levels of staff, strong organizational and planning skills, initiative and enthusiasm, and strong interpersonal skills.

The role is hybrid working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office 1-3X weekly or as needed based on business needs.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, and internal equity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill beplaced between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

This job is also eligible to participate inPG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $98,000

Bay Area Maximum: $146,000

Job Responsibilities:

  • Presents findings and makes recommendations to management or others within organization.
  • Works with department to develop budget (expense, capital, and expenditures), and monitor, forecast and report on budget performance.
  • Works with others on the analysis and validation of the 3- and 5-year planning results.
  • Assists in developing and executing quarterly and annually self-assessment plan with all applicable LOBs.
  • Works on moderately complex problems that require in depth analysis and judgment to obtain results or solutions.
  • Communicates (oral and written) recommendations and findings to leaders and officers.
  • Provides complex forecasts, tracks and improves forecast accuracy.
  • Performs complex quality assurance on data to ensure accurate data is used in reports, and resolve issues as needed.
  • Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 3 years

  • Excellentstrategic thinking, communication, and presentation skills
  • Intellectual curiosity, and relentless continuous improvement
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and overhead allocation models
  • Strong Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP Business Objects, Analysis for Office, and Power BI
  • Competency in interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decision
  • Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization's goals.
