Reporting to the Senior Director Program Management Strategy & Transformation - Ortho, the successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to significant strategic manufacturing initiatives for Global Operations. The successful Program Director's focus areas will include Strategy, Transformation and Operational Excellence delivery for the orthopaedics business. This role will provide leadership of a cross functional team in an operational function that includes all the end-to-end value stream supply chain activities. The successful candidate will possess significant manufacturing and engineering functional/technical skills, stakeholder management skills including excellent communication and presentation skills with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization. This position requires demonstrated ability to think strategically while managing tactical details, leveraging supply chain knowledge (planning, procurement, manufacturing, distribution) to advance program objectives. This role is an individual contributor leadership position that will utilize the tools of program management to influence across all business functions. What will you be doing? Strategy - Assesses the environment and drives alignment of organization and program strategy - Identifies program benefits in a business operational setting and establishes appropriate governance to ensure their successful delivery. - Leads manufacturing network optimization roadmap development including site expansions, transfers, builds and closures Planning/Delivery - Leads the definition and formulation of the program and its associated projects. - Guides development of program risk assessment and response. - Leads planning activities to ensure scope, schedule and resource needs are rigorously developed and tracked - Understand and manage integration touch points and implications for program work activity. - Uses excellent knowledge of the solution to ensure successful program work product. - Applies rigorous logic and conceptual skills to effectively solve problems. - Has excellent skills and hands on experience in the selected competency. - Understands and applies methodology or recognized equivalent in completing programs. - Has experience implementing similar operational solutions through all transformation phases. Process Management - Has a technical understanding of manufacturing transfers and can lead planning and implementation of process improvement and validation. - Supports lean cost reduction workshops and initiatives for manufacturing activities such as machining, heat treating, polishing and inspection. - Guides implementation of shop floor technology and software that supports strategic goals for increasing productivity and efficiency. Financial Management - Demonstrates financial acumen in the development of the program business case and works to maximize the financial outcome delivered. - Builds the program budget and tracks in compliance with Company Policy and rules. - Submits invoices and expenses according to policies and processes. Change Management - Takes accountability for program delivery and guides organizational transformation that respects diverse perspectives from the team. - Creates and maintains a result-oriented and positive teamwork culture within the team. - Establishes, maintains and develops strong relationships with colleagues and mentors other project managers. - Participates as required in relevant road shows, workshops and other forums. - Leads program team with moderate supervision and reports progress to manager. - Builds credibility and trust with colleagues by showing integrity and transparency. Quality Management - Contributes to program assurance to provide confidence that the project is structured appropriately to deliver fully compliant financial, regulatory and legal outcomes. - Completes program performance management in a timely and accurate manner. - Understands operational setting and business drivers that effect the successful delivery of project outcomes and program benefits. What will you need to be successful? Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Sciences, Computer Science, MIS or a Finance-related curriculum. Combination of education and experience to be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Master's degree in Engineering or Business is desirable. Licenses/ Certifications: Project Management certification would be a plus. 12-15 years' combined work experience with project/program management, manufacturing and engineering within a mid-large size corporate environment. Experience in Medical Device Industry preferred. International or cross-cultural work experience preferred. Preferred areas of expertise: Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management Travel Requirements: Limited travel expected 10-25% You Unlimited.
