NATURE AND SCOPE
This position reports to SVP, Business Services Credit Officer. The Business Services Portfolio Manager is responsible for assisting lenders with the management of their portfolios. This position will work with portfolio members with the Loan Officer acting as primary contact. This position will be a subject matter expert for the C&I and/or CRE teams. The Business Services Portfolio Manager completes underwriting requests for portfolio members, including annual reviews, and renewals but does not have loan approval authority. Additionally, Business Services Portfolio Manager will assist in other underwriting assignments as needed.


REQUIREMENTS
1. Must have a Bachelor's Degree in business or related field and a minimum of six years of direct experience in business/commercial credit analysis. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
2. Previous portfolio management experience is preferred but not necessary.
3. Must have strong financial and credit analysis skills as well as a detailed understanding of business credit documentation and business collateral documents.
4. Must have experience or be able to gain proficiency in all programs and systems used for this job including systems related to deposit and loan products.
5. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills and the ability to work independently as a valuable team member in a dynamic environment.
6. Must have the ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
7. Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all job-related state and federal laws and regulations.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
A. Portfolio Management:
1. Manages assigned portfolio by facilitating annual reviews for loan renewals of existing portfolio members. Completes all sections of the appropriate credit analysis and risk rating package so that the loan request and structure, collateral analysis, borrower background, financial
statement analysis, cash flow analysis, loan policy compliance, future financial statement
requirements, strengths and weaknesses and conditions to close are detailed in such a manner that a loan decision can be made.
2. May be included in prospecting calls and facility tours, assisting the lenders in determining whether to issue a proposal.
3. Assists in the presentation of credit analysis packages for approval from appropriate loan authorities.
4. Reviews loan documentation prior to closings to ensure appropriate documentation is provided accurately.
5. Executes loan closings with existing portfolio members.


B. Underwriting:
6. Meets with Business Loan Officers to discuss and assist with the underwriting of annual reviews, renewal of existing loans, and new loan requests.
7. Completes all sections of the appropriate credit analysis and risk rating package so that the loan request and structure, collateral analysis, borrower background, financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, loan policy compliance, future financial statement requirements, strengths and weaknesses and conditions to close are detailed in such a manner that a loan decision can be made.
8. Provides feedback to Business Loan Officers and supervisory staff regarding concerns with any aspects of loans underwritten. Recommends and models appropriate loan structure for new and existing loan relationships.
9. Responsible for efforts to contact business clients, accountants, attorneys or other necessary professionals to request financial and other information necessary for the preparation of the credit analysis package and ongoing credit monitoring.
10. When appropriate, attends business loan appointments with business loan officers to be part of the profiling process.
11. Requests and analyzes all necessary collateral documents and takes a proactive approach in resolving any issues.
12. Requests necessary financial statements for the completion of annual reviews.
13. Completes annual reviews as per the requirements of the business loan policy and the dates established in the credit analysis package. Analyzes and studies the trends to determine the appropriate risk rating. Makes recommendations on risk rating changes.
14. May be asked to attend business loan committee meetings to present credit analysis information and/or other information relative to this position.
15. Performs loan audit review work as assigned.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
